Ms. McLaughlin grew up in New Hampshire and earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Simmons College, a small, all-women’s liberal arts college in located in the heart of Boston. Throughout college, Ms. McLaughlin held many different teaching, tutoring, and science outreach positions while also conducting research on UV-active polymer systems. After graduation, Ms. McLaughlin managed the microscope imaging lab at Massachusetts General Hospital and most recently worked in corporate sales for a company that manufactures explosion-welded metals. It was her work as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado – Boulder, however, that made her realize that teaching is what she really wants to be doing. When she’s not in the lab, Ms. McLaughlin enjoys rock climbing, running, hiking with her dog, yoga, skiing, and board game nights.
