Mrs. Van Scoyk holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy and a Vocal Performance Certificate from Colorado State University, as well as a National Board Certification in Music Therapy. After receiving her degrees, she moved to Ohio to practice Music Therapy at a school for children with developmental disabilities, where she specialized in functional speech and language acquisition using augmentative communication methods, including American Sign Language.
A native of Colorado, Mrs. Van Scoyk launched her own private voice and piano studio in 2008 and joined the faculty at Magnolia Music Studio in 2011. She also taught as an Apprentice Teacher in K-12 Music and Student Services at Ridgeview Classical Schools. During her college years, Mrs. Van Scoyk had the pleasure of singing with the foremost CSU Chamber Choir and performing leading roles with CSU Opera Theatre. She has been invited to perform in professional engagements along the Front Range, including the Colorado Bach Ensemble under Dr. James Kim and the National Collegiate Choral Organization Conference under the baton of world-renowned Bach expert, Helmuth Rilling. Mrs. Van Scoyk has also directed and accompanied performances at Bas Bleu Theatre, Front Range Community College, Colorado State University Young Producers Organization, and Ridgeview Classical Schools.
In her leisure time, Mrs. Van Scoyk enjoys playing piano and guitar, singing, cooking, drinking coffee in giant mugs, hiking, and exploring the mountains with her husband, and spending time with her family and precious niece.
