Mrs. Miller earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Colorado State University and practiced for 17 years, while coaching gymnastics and raising four children.
Mrs. Miller was investigating school options for her children when she discovered charter schools, specifically The Liberty Common School in Fort Collins. She was able to volunteer prior to Liberty Common’s charter approval and subsequently enrolled her children. At that time, Liberty Common was only a K-9 school. Having one of the oldest students at Liberty Common, Mrs. Miller and her husband realized that there needed to be a charter high school in the area. Mrs. Miller quit practicing Occupational Therapy to become the original founder of Ridgeview Classical Schools, opened in 2001. Mrs. Miller was the Board of Directors President for the next 10 years, while also serving as the school’s registrar and business manager through the summer of 2014.
In 2013-14, Mrs. Miller and her husband founded and opened Vanguard Classical School East Campus in Aurora, where she was an Assistant Principal and Academic Dean. Then, in the spring of 2016, Mrs. Miller saw the opportunity to become the Business Manager for Golden View Classical Academy and was invited to join the team.
Mrs. Miller lives in Aurora with her husband, has four grown children, and is expecting her first grandchild in the spring. She continues to be passionate about educational reform, serves on the Governmental Affairs committee of the Colorado League of Charter Schools, and still enjoys coaching gymnastics.
