Mr. Jones completed his undergraduate education at St John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, a great books school. After that, he went to graduate school at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, from which he got a Master’s degree in applied mathematics. Following his studies at RPI, he went to Southern Illinois University, where he received a master’s degree in applied physics. At SIU, he learned a rudimentary amount about quantum information theory (a field which is laying the basis for quantum computers, among other things), and helped in a thin films lab to produce thin films and nanowires. There, Mr. Jones learned about tribology (the study of friction), as well as various different procedures by which coatings were tested. Mr. Jones then spent a year and a half teaching math and science at Loveland Classical Schools before joining Golden View Classical Academy at its inception.
