Mr. Gilmore was born and raised in the Denver Metro area. He attended Hillsdale College on a track and field scholarship, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Management with a concentration in English. During his senior year, he served as team captain in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field. Mr. Gilmore received NCAA Division II Academic All-American accolades during his career.
Mr. Gilmore spent summers coaching at sports camps for children. Upon graduation, he taught Kindergarten-5th Grade in Seoul, South Korea, where he competed at several road races with the Seoul Flyers running club during his free time.
Although he is biased toward running, Mr. Gilmore enjoys many sports and activities. He believes that a physical education is imperative in a classical setting. It provides an opportunity to teach the core virtues of Golden View Classical Academy in a disciplined environment. In addition to building the students’ moral character, physical education also teaches a lifelong appreciation of health and physical activity.
Mr. Gilmore taught 1st-4th Grade physical education in his first year at Golden View Classical Academy. He is also teaching 8th Grade physical education this year. He is the assistant high school cross country coach and head high school track coach.
