In the morning, students may be dropped off at school between 7:15 and 7:35. Doors are closed and locked when class begins at 7:40, so students arriving after this time must enter through the front office to receive a tardy slip.
In the afternoon, students may be picked up in carline beginning at 3:00 and until 3:30.
Students who are still on campus at 3:30 without participating in a club or activity must wait in the front office to be picked up by a parent or approved adult. The fee is $10 for the first minute, and then $1 per minute thereafter. If a student is picked up after 4:00, the rate increases to $10 per minute thereafter.
Grammar School students must be picked up by a parent or other approved person, including a guardian, friend, or sibling. We will not allow Grammar School students to self-release this year. This means Grammar School students will not be released from the classroom until an approved person enters the carline or walks up to speak with a member of the school. Grammar School students will not be allowed to walk down Corporate Circle to meet parents or other people picking up. This change will minimize traffic congestion and decrease the number of young students walking around during the busiest time of day.
Upper School students may self-release. Upper School student drivers with school permits may pick up their Grammar School siblings and drive them off campus.
Parent parking on the school’s campus is the main, front lot and will be very limited this year. Because it will fill up quickly throughout the day, parents should plan to park off-campus and walk up to the school to conduct business inside.
Also, it is crucial that parents do not park closer to the school than 651 Corporate Circle. Doing so leads to a good deal of congestion and confusion for other parents. There is a big sign there that indicates the address and says “Offices at Corporate Circle.” Please do not park past this sign.
Main Carline Guidelines
- Stay in GVCA’s lane.
Stay in the right-most lane as you approach the school. Parents from our neighboring school, Free Horizon Montessori (FHM), will be in the left-most lane.
- Enter campus at Conference Place and exit onto Corporate Circle.
Carline begins and ends on Corporate Circle. Parents must exit campus by turning right only. Left turns are not permitted.
- Stay alert and drive slowly.
Students from Golden View Classical and from Free Horizon are walking to and from school.
- Car placards are required.
Be sure to have your placards visible if you are picking up Grammar School Students at the end of the school day. They are required.
- Students exit and enter between the playground and fire hydrant.
During carline, students may exit and enter vehicles beginning at the playground and all the way to the yellow fire hydrant.
